Yesterday was the day of celebration of all things French (although, if you know me, you’ll know I for one don’t need an excuse for celebrating anything of the French kind!), as it was Bastille Day, a day which marks the end of a corrupt monarchy for the country (you can read more about Bastille Day from last year’s post on Love Letters To Beauty here.

If I could list everything I adored about Paris right here, yet alone all my favourite French beauty products, well, it would end up the size of a comprehensive medical journal, so instead, I thought I’d tell you about three of my favourite French beauty products that I use religiously at the moment.

1. Bioderma Cre’aline H2O Solution Micellaire

Over the years, I’ve had very few good experiences with makeup removers and I had heard so much about Bioderma that I simply had to try it – I’ve never looked back! This solution from French pharmacy brand Bioderma has reached cult status and I’m not surprised. Not only is it a fuss free (multi-purpose and no water needed? Oui oui!) eye, lip and face makeup remover, it’s super gentle, doesn’t leave any residue and has simple, non harsh ingredients – plus it doesn’t break the bank!

2. By Terry Beaume de Rose

This stunning balm from acclaimed French Makeup Artist Terry de Gunzburg is just beautiful by all accounts. It’s filled with luxurious, nourishing ingredients that not only give your lips a smooth and subtle gloss look, it smells like fresh rose water and actually makes a significant difference to the texture of my lips. They look slightly fuller, they feel so incredibly soft and are so smooth, which has been fantastic to treat my lips in this windy winter weather.

3. Diptyque Philosykos Solid Perfume

A favourite ritual of mine when I need just a bit of comfort and luxury is to light a Diptyque candle – the design is classic and chic, the fragrances are beautiful and unique with its own story behind each one and the quality is simply uncompromising. But Diptyque are so much more than candles, with an equal favourite for me being the Philosykos Solid Perfume that was a limited edition for Christmas 2013. It smells of figs growing by the sea and is fresh yet warm – perfect for winter and being a compact balm, perfect for the handbag too.

Viva La France!

Yours truly,

Neena B. xx
